EPDM elastic ground is widely used in outdoor activity venues due to its safety, elasticity and anti-slip performance. After long-term ultraviolet aging, rain erosion and frequent trampling, most EPDM grounds appear superficial damage, including color fading, particle loosening, surface voids and slight sanding. In most cases, the base layer is still stable and does not need overall reconstruction. The colored elastic adhesive repair technology targets such superficial defects. Colored adhesive repair applies to EPDM grounds with stable base structure, mainly for the following minor and moderate damages:

Step 2: Local defect patching. For worn bare areas and shallow pits, fill and level with mixed colored adhesive and fine EPDM particles to eliminate uneven surfaces.
Step 3: Color matching and glue mixing. Match the adhesive color according to the original venue tone. Mix adhesive and curing agent evenly in standard proportion to avoid bubbles and precipitation.
Step 4: Overall roller coating. Coat the colored adhesive evenly on the whole ground. The adhesive penetrates and bonds loose particles, forming a dense and uniform color protective layer. A second coating can be applied for severely faded surfaces.
Step 5: Finishing and curing. Trim edges and detailed positions to ensure flat transition. Seal the site for curing for 24–48 hours at room temperature until fully hardened.
After construction, avoid heavy rolling and sharp scratching within one week. In daily use, clean the ground regularly with neutral detergent, and avoid strong acid and alkali corrosive agents. Regular inspection is recommended. Timely supplementary gluing for minor wear can effectively prolong the service life of EPDM ground. It is suggested to carry out one colored adhesive reinforcement coating every 2–3 years for outdoor venues.
